At Countdown Printables, we rigorously adhere to the University of California (UC) Code of Conduct, ensuring ethical labor practices across our operations and supply chain. Here’s how we align with the UC Code standards:

  1. Compliance with Legal and Ethical Standards:
  • Legal Compliance: We ensure that our operations meet or exceed all applicable local and environmental laws. Where local laws conflict with UC Code standards, we adhere to the higher standard.
  • Ethical Standards: We conduct our business with integrity, honesty, and respect for every worker, committing to the highest ethical principles.
  1. Employment Standards:
  • Wages and Benefits: We provide wages and benefits that comply with local laws and surpass prevailing wages. Our compensation ensures a fair living wage, meeting and exceeding basic needs such as food, shelter, and healthcare.
  • Working Hours: We enforce limits on regular and overtime hours, ensuring that regular work does not exceed 48 hours per week and overtime is consensual and properly compensated. Workers receive at least 24 consecutive hours of rest each week.
  • Child Labor: We prohibit the employment of individuals under 15 or those below the compulsory education age. Workers under 18 are not assigned hazardous tasks.
  • Forced Labor: We strictly prohibit forced labor and human trafficking, complying with international standards and local regulations.
  1. Health and Safety:
  • Safe Work Environment: We ensure a safe and healthy work environment that meets or exceeds local health and safety laws. This includes proper protection for workers exposed to hazardous substances and maintaining safe residential facilities if provided.
  1. Nondiscrimination and Women’s Rights:
  • Nondiscrimination: Employment decisions are based solely on the ability to perform the job. We prohibit discrimination based on race, gender, age, disability, or other protected characteristics.
  • Women’s Rights: We ensure equal remuneration and opportunities for women, prohibit pregnancy testing as a condition of employment, and provide protections for maternity leave and reproductive health.
  1. Harassment, Freedom of Association, and Disclosure:
  • Harassment: We ensure that all workers are treated with dignity and respect, prohibiting any form of harassment or abuse.
  • Freedom of Association: We recognize and support workers’ rights to freely associate and bargain collectively. Workers are protected from retaliation for union activities.
  • Disclosure: We provide transparent information on our operations, including details about suppliers, manufacturing processes, and compliance systems. This information is updated regularly and made available to the University upon request.
  1. Internal and External Monitoring:
  • Internal Monitoring: We conduct continuous internal audits and implement corrective actions to address any non-compliance. We also seek knowledge and training on best practices in labor standards.
  • External Monitoring: We cooperate with external audits and investigations by the University or designated agents, providing full access to facilities and records as required.
  1. Non-Compliance and Corrective Action:
  • Addressing Violations: We promptly address any reported non-compliance, maintaining records and providing detailed reports on corrective actions. If necessary, we develop and implement Corrective Action Plans (CAP) to resolve issues and prevent recurrence.

By adhering to the UC Code Standards, Countdown Printables demonstrates our unwavering commitment to ethical labor practices and responsible business operations.
